Episode 2.24

Our final episode of the 2015 season. Congratulations to the Edmonton Rush on their well-deserved Championship, and congratulations also to the Toronto Rock, who played a great game this past Friday. We had a good conversation about the game, and made a few predictions / guesses about what might happen in the NLL in the off-season.

We’d love to hear your feedback on this episode, the show in general, or the NLL! Hit us up on Twitter at @LaxPodcast, on Facebook at LaxPodcast, or send us email at feedback@addictedtolacrosse.com. Thanks for watching, and we’ll see you next season!

Episode 2.23

The finals are here! Obviously there some Game 1 discussion, but the Swarm are heading down south and we talk not only about the move but the timing of the announcement. We also looked at the order of the first round draft picks in the upcoming entry draft, and we had a short talk on the championship games we’ve seen.

Will our show next weekend be the last of the season? We’ll find out Friday night…

Episode 2.22

We had a good discussion this week about a bunch of things: The Swarm announced plans to relocate and the Rush hinted that they may be moving too, Tyler Richards hangs ’em up at the age of 28, the DU Pioneers win the NCAA Championship, and two Canadian teams will meet in the NLL Finals. We had either two or four exciting games this past weekend, depending on how you look at it, and we talk about those games as well as how we think the playoffs should be set up.

Episode 2.21

Tyler was not available tonight (get better soon, Mrs. Tyler!) so we had a special guest host: Jim Flannery of In Lacrosse We Trust. Edmonton and Rochester took 1-0 leads in the division finals this past weekend, so we talked about two very exciting lacrosse games! We also discussed the biggest surprises of the 2015 season and made our predictions for the Division Finals.

Episode 2.20

A short episode, as we discuss the two coaching changes that have already been announced since the end of the regular season as well as the two playoff games that occurred this past weekend. Tyler’s cat makes another cameo appearance; we may have to start getting his game predictions as well.

Episode 2.19

Final episode of the regular season! We talk about the new records set this season, the Wednesday game that almost was, and the final five games of the season. Toronto ironically clinches first by having a tough time beating the last place team, while the highly anticipated Calgary – Vancouver matchup ends up as a microcosm of both the Vancouver and Calgary seasons. How can you not watch a show featuring the word microcosm?

We finish off the regular season by looking at the predictions we made at the beginning of the season. Some were good, some were bad, and yes. some were ugly.

Episode 2.18

We had some fun this week with our award choices – only two of which are unanimous. Is Shawn Evans the MVP? Mark Matthews? Vinc or Bold for goalie? Is there really a choice for the Les Bartley award? (Answer: yes) This plus four games to talk about on the second-last A2L of the regular season.

Episode 2.17

Lots to talk about this week. The Rush are not allowed to use the phrase “Battle of Alberta” anymore, where (and whether) the NLL should expand, and what the current playoff picture looks like. We also had five games to discuss: Grant hits another scoring milestone, Jesse Gamble went fishing and got a bite, and we have decided that Matt Vinc is a good goaltender.

Episode 2.16

Cory Conway was released by the Rush, Shawn Evans is the new single-season points record holder, some more playoff positions are set, and a busy weekend of games to discuss!

No Tyler tonight as he was unavailable, and our guest host Ryan Zunner was having technical problems so he wasn’t able to join us either.

Episode 2.15

Lots to talk about this week – several key players are injured including two starting goalies in the West, a bunch of trade deadline deals involving such names as Powless, Crowley, Billings, Suitor, and Schuss, and nine games to talk about, including one from last week that happened after our previous episode.
